Question about purchasing lottery tickets

I'm always asked if I want them all on the same ticket. Is there a reason or "advantage" to putting the numbers on different tickets?

I think it may be superstition. Or less chance of repeating numbers.

Sometimes people buy them for other people, or they're superstitious and want different tickets.

Not really. It's a random number generator program. But, some numbers tend to get grouped together on the same ticket. It's more of a superstition thing than anything else.
