I was just browsing our recruiting for basketball and I noticed that our best recruit from last year Elbert Robinson the 7'1" 4 star center hasn't played much at all. I know he has had weight issues but is that the reason for him playing so sparingly? Online I saw he was over 300 pounds but I figure I would rather have him in than Darcy Malone. Assuming he can make it up and down the court.

He'll get there. Dude lost an ungodly amount of weight in the last year and is almost certainly still learning to adjust to the college game. You can't teach his size though. I'm confident he'll be a good one before his time is through.

He lost a lot of weight in the offseason - he's probably closer to 270 now. He was starting to begin the season, but got passed up by Odo, then Malone. Probably just chalk it up to a true freshman that hasn't picked up the speed of the game just yet.

Obviously Malone is better right now. Robinson will be a big contributor at some point

He's lack of time has been disappointing, but he's not a bust or anything. Will likely be relied upon next year.

You dont have to go to practices to see that dude has an absolutely awful attitude.

He's been pouting since December.

I'm still hopeful for Robinson. I am worried due to the fact that he expected himself to be a 1 year player, but I don't think that was a realistic goal for him.

With some extra time to develop his body and work on his game, he could be a heavy contributor next season.

Well, then. You seem to have it all figured out.

Better be lucky he's not a quarterback, otherwise, you would get reamed for that comment.

Did Rueben Randle also, in your expert opinion, have an "absolutely awful attitude"?

Cool.

As to Elbert, I'll defer to his losing upwards of 100 lbs. in the last year as an indicator of his attitude, or lack thereof, rather than impressions I get from his posture and facial expressions.

I guess the reason I posted this is that we don't have much depth at all so I figure put him in every now and then so we can play hard in the paint and not have Mickey or Martin get unneeded fouls

It was all out in the open in an OOC game earlier this year. CJJ tapped him to go in at garbage time and he did not budge. CJJ then went over and had about a 1 minute conversation with him, he got up and checked in but the body language as you say, left no question he was pissed.

He needs to improve on that and his movement. He's very slow and stiff in all the games I've seen him in. You'd have to play zone with him in there because he'd be compromised easily in pick and rolls. Much easier than Odo and Malone.
