All about technique. Bad form equals missed free throws. Practice, practice, and more practice.

We shoot 70% as a team. That's not bad.

23-38 tonight, glad those missed fts didn't come back to hurt the team.

Shooting FTs for a high % takes focus. This ball club rarely has focus.

This has always mystified me that unless you're a 7 footer with other skills and just can't do it, having a decent free throw percentage should be a requirement of playing college ball. Many less talented HS players who never make it to college ball do it consistently. Why can't these guys who get a free ride through college do it?

The better teams are up there.

This has always been a pet peeve even coaching grade school kids. It's like continuous 3 putting in golf. Your final score is poor and and usually loose.

It's natural to feel frustration seeing one's favorite team miss free throws. However, when you focus on how other teams shoot free throws, you realize that we aren't that bad in comparison.

Take 12 for 19. That does not look bad at all. If we had shot that, I don't believe anyone on here would have complained.

It's what Alabama shot. Double that and you get 24 for 38, which is just one measly FT more than our 23 for 38 FT percentage.

this thread is full of the typical idiots that watch one game of the season and then make an assumption based on that. This has been a good free throw shooting team all season long. Tonight just happened to be their worst night collectively. lame arse thread

It doesn't help when the retarded students do spirit fingers behind the glass when we are shooting.

This is 60% and both teams are pathetic. I look at it as loosing out on a gift of 15 points, not that 100% is realistic, but 30 for 38 or 80% is likely what top ten teams might average. This would add 7 points on the average, and maybe win some more games? I mean it's only 5 yards away with no defense in your face...it's free, and takes more muscle memory and practice!

Agree this is really dumb if it's happening as I haven't noticed it.

Only two teams in the country round up to average that, neither are ranked in the top ten. No team in the NBA does.

Didn't check for NCAA but in NBA, only 1 team was below 70% with 20 out of 30 above 75%. The first 10 teams were 77-79%. Was this what you meant by no team in the NBA is at 80%?

I meant no team in the NBA shoots 80% from the line.
