Ryse was okay.
It probably is the brother from another mother to The Order. Great graphics. Limited gameplay and storyline. You are just left bitter because it had your attention and plenty of potential, but didn't come thru.

Kind of like finding a sweet church girl with an awesome rack, yet she's a dead fish in the sack.

Having not played it, this sounds like a good description.

I just love the rocksteady combat people have copied (shadows of Mordor, sleeping dogs)

And supposedly ryse does a great copy job

Plus I love the look of it

What was better for Ryse is that it was a launch game.

It's beautiful and combat is really smooth. I'm big into that period of time. Greek Mythology, the rise of Rome, Spartans, blah blah. So I was intrigued from the get go with previews. So I finished the game out and enjoyed it, but geez did it get repetitive at times.

ETA: Yep Dok. Everyone probably made the same decision, "Well I got to get this Ryse game, everyone says it has the best next gen graphics. Plus, there aren't but 2-3 other games available at launch and most of them are previous gen port overs"

Repetitive isn't a problem with combat games like that. It's kind of like final fight or some of the other side scrolling beat em ups to me. Sure variety makes it great, but I'll never get bored of slashin up people and beating them with my bare hands

I was really really hoping it would be Xbox's God of War but with better graphics. And that it is not..

the long wait for uncharted and the impatience almost lead me to buying xbox 1 because I think I understand and understood ryse perfectly

it's a gorgeous game that will showcase your new toy's capabilities, it's pretty good, you can definitely dump time into it, but it's no classic or anything.

I really am not impressed with this generation so far, I'll remain patient but PS3 may be my favorite system ever. I will never ditch it or put it in the attic

arkham asylum
arkham city
arkham origins
Uncharted
Uncharted 2
Uncharted 3
Last of Us
Red Dead Redemption
GTA V
Tomb Raider Reboot (sorry, I loved this)
Sleeping Dogs
Stick of Truth

then they took my favorite game from the previous generation and remastered it...FFX

the weird thing is most of those games came in the second half of the generation and a few of them right at the end (stick of truth, last of us, gta v)

I realize that now. PS2 wasn't like that (my least favorite generation though)

and n64 and snes were awesome pretty much from the get go
