Only reasons its in this shite hole right now is b/c the original host got kicked out.

Really, just because they have massive new Chinese/corruption funded stadiums for a tiny country ruled by a despot. Morocco probably could've successfully hosted, but pulled out because of ebola fears.

I'm in Cameroon now, and even it serving as the host of a major CAF tournament (which it will do for AFCON 2017), is a big stretch. Infrastructure, both stadium and roads, here is lacking, but it's not lacking in the corrupt president department.

Never mind, it's perfect to host AFCON.

Didn't they only play the matches in 3 or 4 stadiums

But when they said we don't want it they got the boot from the tourny.

CAF punishments: Morocco hammered, Tunisian FA Pres. banned, EG gets off easy
quote:

Morocco have been banned from the next two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations after failing to host this year's tournament.

The Confederation of African Football (Caf) also fined Morocco US$1m (£650,000) and ordered them to pay 8m euros (£5.9m) in damages.

...

Caf announced the decision to suspend Morocco on the same day they fined hosts Equatorial Guinea US$100,000 (£65,000) for crowd trouble during Thursday's Africa Cup of Nations semi-final loss to Ghana.

Tunisian Football Association president Wadie Jary was also banned from all activities by Caf on Friday.

That followed Caf's ultimatum for the Tunisian FA to apologise for accusing the body of cheating or be banned from the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Tunisia made the allegations over a controversial penalty in a 2-1 quarter-final defeat by Equatorial Guinea.

Damn, they fined them in two different currencies? Things are getting serious.
