Who are the Walk-Ons?

I know someone said Javahn Ferguson the other day, but it looks like he signed with New Mexico State? Any others?

I was too. If we could get more 3-star in-state kids to go to LSU as walk-ons (I mean, they get TOPS, which is definitely a big help) then we could build a pretty mean team.

Don't think it works like that. That would be a huge advantage for LSU over those schools that don't have such a wide-net tuition assistance program
I can't remember exactly the rule, but it is something like if a kid receives any academic assistance and makes the 85 man roster then his is referred to as a "counted" player. In that football is a "head count" sport with regards to scholarships.
Meaning whether his scholarship is an athletic one or not, if he dresses for the team he will be counted against that teams scholarship limit
