Head Coaches of Women's Collegiate Teams

A REPORT ON SELECT NCAA DIVISION-I FBS INSTITUTIONS 2014-15

This longitudinal research series, now in its third year, is a partnership between
the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport at the University of
Minnesota—the first research center of its kind in the world—and the Alliance of
Women Coaches, an organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in the
coaching profession.

The Decline of Women
Coaches in Collegiate Athletics: A Report on Select NCAA Division-I FBS Institutions, 2012 -13

Now, before anybody flames me, I'm just putting this information out there. I think it'd be interesting to correlate the success rate of programs with more women's coaches compared to those with a mix or even a predominance of male coaches.

To my mind, winning is all that matters. Fortunately for us, our women coaches appear to be pretty good!

It's an interesting report, but I still strongly believe hire the best person. It is misleading to interpret this article as hire women coaches to make it fair. You should hire the best person who can attract better recruits, develop better student-athletes and succeed on a national stage. With that said, it definitely looks good that we are ranked so well in this category.
