This in a down year for the state. Insane. I don't see it changing any time soon. No more guys falling through the cracks, everyone is turning over rocks in Louisiana to find players.

I posted something along these lines a couple weeks ago, and the numbers weren't even this staggering then. That's incredible.

Agreed. The days of the small town La recruit flying under the radar are going to be much fewer now. Programs are realizing that La's 20-40 are as solid athletes as some others top 10's.

Any info on how this works out on a per capita basis? Would like to compare to other states.

Found this: La. Was number one in per capita for the period 2008-2013.

Louisiana is usually #2 per capita to Mississippi.
Might be reversed this year.

60 is a lot.

Louisiana has 40 listed in rivals. Bama has 30. That's the amazing thing and its true EVERY year.
Bama has more people and fewer good football players.

That is amazing. Looking at the list of schools it's no joke.

Rivals LA top 50

It's pretty easy to tell why Tulane is doing so poorly. They are not getting any of the top players from Louisiana to stay at home.

I hope one day I get the amount of free time needed to research what I'm about to ask....

I wonder if it's nature or nurture producing this talent?

For those unfamiliar, there's a debate going about whether the best players are those who are genetically gifted (lucky) or are they the kids who have been playing ball since they have learned to walk....

Probably a combination of both in louisiana
