Football Recruiting

Here's what Football Bowl Subdivision schools told the NCAA they spent to recruit football players during the 2012-13 school year

quote:

No public school spent more on football recruiting than the SEC's Tennessee, with an average of nearly $1.3 million annually — 36% more than any other major college program. Tennessee was the only school over that span to average a seven-figure expenditure for recruiting expenses, which include transportation as well as lodging and meals for both recruits on school visits and coaches on recruiting trips.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/recruiting

Alabama SEC $983,721
Arkansas SEC $615,252
Auburn SEC $1,384,188
Florida SEC $687,227
Georgia SEC $581,531
Kentucky SEC $504,421
LSU SEC $577,442
Mississippi SEC $557,208
Mississippi State SEC $468,536
Missouri SEC $631,630
South Carolina SEC $302,249
Tennessee SEC $1,292,544
Texas A&M SEC $401,167

As a new class of recruits begins formalizing school choices on Wednesday's national signing day, a USA TODAY Sports analysis also finds that in football recruiting budgets, as in many other ways, the gulf between the Football Bowl Subdivision's haves and have-nots is growing substantially.

Tennessee sort of makes sense given how much of their recruiting has to be done out of state. Auburn, I'm not sure about.

Until recently TN didn't really produce much talent. UT has always had to travel to recruit.

We are the only team in the sec that can literally stay home and build a great class.

If Richt could lock down his state, UGA would be in the same boat.

Not this class as we needed to get other positions.

We should have gotten 2 LB, 1 DT, and 1-2 more DE instead of 2 more WR, punter, snapper, etc...
