Romo and Payton could have given us similar results, however it probably wouldve taken longer. but im obviously happy with what actually took place.

would the saints have been a better tean compared to pre sean payton(2005) with romo?
sure
similar results?
absolutely not.
drew brees is a record setting hall of fame QB. tony romo is a field goal fumbler.

guessing you didnt see what he can do with a great line, which is exactly what he wouldve had hear up until recently.
did you watch how our offense worked with a bad o-line?
clearly i prefer Brees. as you said, record setter, HOFer, Super Bowl MVP, but romo wouldnt have been a disaster with us. if you think that, you are really discrediting Payton.

I think we wouldve gotten atleast a shot at 1 superbowl. probably won it, everything else staying the exact same.

our 2006 offensive line is not what I would consider a great o-line. I still have nightmares watching them in preseason.
Many experts predicted us to have one of the worst lines in history going in to that year.
Luckily, that "J-Line" outperformed everyone's expectations.

So.. since we only got 1 shot at the superbowl and won it.
You think EVERYTHING would have been the same? Not everything else?

So this would have been just for 2012? I'm really confused. Had we gotten Romo how does he play over Brees?
That doesn't make any sense
Ah they meant Parcels in 2012 and Romo in 2006 as separate things.

I went and looked back at the 2006 draft after hearing that we could have got Romo for a 2nd rounder to see who we took instead: Roman Harper. He was obviously a solid player for us so it worked out. Then I looked at our other picks that draft and realized that was a damn good class for us.
1st-Reggie Bush
2nd-Harper
3rd-None
4th-Jahri Evans
5th-Rob Ninkovich (obviously not very good for us, but a good player now)
6th-Two busts
7th-Marques Colston, Zach Strief
Sorry for the OT post, but thought it was interesting
ETA:
Forgot Strief

Here's a fun what if.
If Parcells is our interim coach for Bountygate, how different does that season go?

I wanted Parcells to fill in for Payton. Didn't realize that it almost happened. Wonder how the season would have differed if Parcells had been here. We will never know unfortunately

I would think he would have gotten us a few more wins as he would have been a much better HC then our 2 interim HCs. Plus I am sure he would have won a few of those closer games, and could have made us a playoff contender (although I doubt we make it).
The bigger affect would have been in the draft. I would think he would have been able to draft better than we did in '12 (recall SP was already suspended and had no input)
3: Hicks
4: Toon
5: White
6: Andrew Tiller
7: Marcel Jones
Also the trickle down affect would have been that with a better record we would have been drafting much lower in '13. As we know from this season, a few more wins drops us 5-7 spots which would have meant no KV; and could have kept us from Armstead, Jenkins & Stills
