This should dispel the myth that a school can recruit itself.

As a Tiger fan in Central Florida, who is surrounded on all freaking sides by Gator fans (including my husband, who I love dearly in spite of his lack of taste in college teams), I cannot begin to express how happy I am to read this.
F the Gators.
F the Gators.

What's with the obsession of Florida's recruiting class?
Surely this is being discussed on SEC recruiting boards. Why here so much?

Having them as a permanent opponent from the SEC east doesn't look that bad now.

No but seriously, people in Gainesville don't even care right now. They've raised their academic standards, and the student no longer give much of a shite.

florida had an awful offense. none of the offensive players were interested. florida hired an offensive minded hc and none of the defensive 5* players were interested in him (cowart, Holland, cece).

I'm a 6th generation Floridian and I love to see this. I literally hate UF (along with their bastard brethren FSUX). You can say that CUM ruined this program but they've been dirty for a long time. Couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of SOBs.

Won't change a morons argument. They ignore facts, examples, stats, etc.

We were 22 when Les came on board, and that was with LES taking over for a GOOD football team. McElwain is taking over a BAD team. It is tough that first recruiting class

Yep. Carefull what you wish for

Because we are forced to play them every year.
From LSU's standpoint, Florida is practically a divisional opponent because of that. They are only one half-step down from one.
If it's bad for Florida, it's good for LSU.

I hate Florida. But honestly, other not getting a QB, they didn't have a bad class. Solid big fellas and D players, plus a good RB. Low recruiting number ranking isn't a very valuable measure if the school filled its needs.

Bless your heart. I can only imagine in Central Florida as I am in Northeast Florida and it is semi unbearable. It is nice to see, coaching change or not!

Exactly Deltadoc!! Schools do not recruit themselves. Ridiculous to think that they do.

This is what LSUs class will look like when Les is gone like alot of people want. Landing a top class during a transistion year is just impossible.
I really think he will be gone by 18.

I was talking about this in another thread the other day. Bad news for Florida is good news for LSU. As long as Miami and UF suck, LSU should still pull major talent from that state yearly. Also playing them down as they are now, helps our chances to the playoffs even more.
