I know a kid...
6'6 275
315 max bench
225 7 times (I seent it)
Honor roll
He's 15 and going into his Sophmore year. Kid is legit and has a real chance. Trying to help out with info on camps and such for the summer. Any suggestions?

Not flabby either. Tight core. Big shoulders. Kid has a shot

That is quite a large 15 year old.

Had a good freshman year but he is green and is at a decent program but small. Tryin to help with getting the eyes on him.

Huge hands but his build screams OT. Never really caught anything.

Are the LSU camps legit?

Was just kidding, honestly. Seems like a beast. Best of luck to him

All the Rivals/Scout/Nike regional camps possible would be a good starting point. Also all of your local/regional universities. Based on those, you should be able to get feedback on where he will slot in at with what type of program. Then start targeting programs he would be interested in and attend their camps.

I've been out the game for a decade but there are usually 1 day camps at most schools that might be more cost effective and allow him to hit more places in a short span.
Then depending on how that goes, possibly the next summer narrow things down further and identity some campuses that might be worth a 3-5 day session.
Typically though, if a kid stands out, the coaches will let him know pretty quickly and start hovering.

Also, have him talk to his high school coaches about his desire to play at the next level. If his coach is worth a damn, the coach will start putting his name out and suggest camps for him to attend based on the coaches connections.

Tiny school. Not sure the connections are there. Not to be critical but the fam is not going to depend on the school to showcase the kid.
I'm confident once the kid is noticed the opportunities will be there but I agree with them in not leaving that to chance.

I'm in the same boat.
I am very close to a kid who is 6'4" 220 in SEVENTH GRADE.
He will be 13 later this month. Projects to be at least 6'8" by age 18.
I need to start getting him engaged with the right coaching/training and map out a plan of development.
Honors student, high ceiling for him.

if you want to talk about it. I will give you my story. I got screwed by my high school coach because my senior year was his last year and he didnt give a crap about promoting a kid at all, so it was left upon my father and I to do all the leg work. We caught a break or two, and I had a few good camp performances which set me up. Like most things in life, it is all about who you know, but a big performance can catapulte a kid to big places.
