Did Russell Wilson lose money the past month?

I'm not blaming the game on Russell or even saying he's a bad QB. There's been a lot of talk about him getting a ridiculous contract. He's what people call "a winner", with a Super Bowl and a Super Bowl appearance in his short career. That seems to be his case for a Best QB- type contract.

I like Wilson a lot. I think he's just inside the top ten of QB's but honestly he isn't Brady, Manning, Rodgers, etc. That's the type of money he wants, and people think he deserves based off his ability to win.

His negotiations now seem like they'll be interesting imo. Going to be hard to ignore both his pitiful performance in the NFC championship, and although he iimo had a very good game against NE, he did make a throw that cost his team the game (although I think the playcall is to blame).

Normally two games wouldn't affect a negotiation and he's still gonna get PAID and deservedly so, but if your calling card is " a winner" and your last two playoff games are that, does anyone else think it may prevent him from the biggest QB contract ever?

There was some talk to him taking less so they could spread some of that money around.

Although, I don't know the validity of that.

The Seahawks front office likely already had a plan of who/how they'll resign.

He's no where near the 20 mil market. Seattle better hope he realizes this and takes 10-12 and allows them to keep their team intact. Selfishly I can't wait till the Panthers have Cam demand 20 so they can be worse than they already are for years to come.

That would be idiotic on his part. This is the contract where you set yourself up for life. Nothing is guaranteed especially his health. If he does this, then I think Petey has definitely brain washed him.

No but the Seahawks are about to max him out and he's not the kind of QB like a Manning, Rodgers or Brady that will be the franchise type QB. His max contract will hinder Seahawks at other positions particularly defense. They will have a ton of money locked up on players that will bring them back to the pack.

Nature of NFL, it's why you have to admire the Patriot way. They keep plugging and getting to the playoffs every year.

Hopefully they give him the Kaep contract.

Contract with ~20 mill per year but it's based on winning and injuries and what not

let me re phrase that. I HOPE they give him 25 mill per year so they will go back to sucking dick.

But from a smart team perspective, I hope they give him the Kaep contract

If I'm his agent, there's no way id accept that type of structure. Flacco's deal would be where we would start the negotiations.

That's an outrageous thought. No way. If anything, he helped himself. They are going to overpay him, no doubt. But that's the system. That's why it's so hard for Brees, Manning, etc to keep winning. Team gets gutted bc all money goes to qb.

And why the NFL becomes more unwatchable. Teams sink an inordinate amount into the QB position, so the league rigs the rules to both overly protect that position and make it easier for that position to excel.

This is a ridiculous statement. Maybe you are stating you don't like the NFL, but as a sport it's popularity is at an all time high and continually rising.
