Manchester United’s Ángel Di María and his family are reported to have been the victims of an attempted burglary at his home hours after the Argentina international played in the 3-1 victory over Leicester.

According to The Sun, Di María was eating dinnner at his house in Cheshire with his wife and young daughter when three men used scaffolding poles to smash patio doors. They fled empty-handed when an alarm went off but the player who joined United for a British record transfer fee of £59.7m was said to have been shaken by the incident.

Di María and his family were said to have been taken to a hotel by United’s security staff, with Cheshire Police confirming they are investigating.

Sad but this seems to be happening more and more over here with players getting robbed.

Darren Bent's house the other month got broken into and they got away with his 2 cars.

Terrible that players have to put up with this. Guy was just sitting down to dinner with his wife and kid.

Plus, the weather in Manchester is already hard enough on the South Americans. I don't want to see anybody give him any more reason to dislike it there.
