Once wage earners earn and or accept a permanent supervisor position, they are no longer represented by the union. They are salaried employees at a union site

Gotcha. Same thing at our site also. Just wasn't sure what the OP was stating.

You don't have to be a manager to be in a permanent position.

Depends on the site. Even those not technically managing anyone hold supervisor positions at Exxon BR. This is only referring to wage earners.

Matter of semantics and what you call supervisor positions. There are plenty of permanent employees who were previously wage earners who are individual contributors with no job description that even comes close to the definition of "supervisory"

This is a boring tangent that I don't feel like arguing over. You win a rabbit.

Fightin tigers... Exxon BR was the site i was referring to. Although, i believe they have always been off pattern of NOBP. Might be wrong but dont believe there.

Basically workers have a choice, just requires leadership.

Does anyone still doubt that unions are useless these days? How big a raise would it take to make back what these workers have lost in a month? USW is a fricking joke and I hope this hurts them (not the dues paying members)

I'm sure we'll get some update Tuesday. I'm scheduled to go walk the line again Sunday, but if its raining, ol'brass is staying home, don't have insurance if I get sick.

On a serious note you guys on here at Norco, make sure you are paying your LTD and IPI, we need to maintain 75% in order for us to keep it.

I've been tring to tell ppl abt usw's agenda for years they aren't looking out for there workers only there bottom line. By the way I crossed today I could have worked as temp strike replacement co madicorp but I decided to cross our own line to give the next guy the courage to standup against usw. Many here are members just out of fear and intemidation. Don't be surprised if u see usw taking routine maintance bs out of contract and we get our retribution clause after their loss of support and resistance within the ranks. None of the union bosses will ever admit it if it happens to play out that way. I am against big unions but for collective bargaining i was never part of usw im standing for what i beleive in and as long as yall are too on either side wish evryone best of luck. Me and a couple crossing will be pooling money if any one needs a hand.

Same reason here. No one wants to be first but I'm doing what I can to get the word out. Shell is doing everything they can to make us comfortable.

Eta: one benefit I didn't think about while I was out was vacation. But you are losing vacation time everyday you stay out. Going to be some mad people not able to take the winter off to hunt over this shite.

I'm with you just remember to hold yourself to the highest standard ppl are watching and ppl are scared. Emotions will be high but we must respect or opposition and help our fellow coworkers we will be bringing in money dont shy from lending a hand. These guys are family to me I wish they were all back at work its a strange sad feeling eating lunch without the usual faces especially knowing they share your opinion. Stay strong and well show them what honor and brotherhood is all about

Little phone with auto correct changing words constantly, but thanks for worrying about something so trivial............... Yes this is a union shop this also a right to work state. I am manning up and more than you realize. You can fight for the union leaders gain I'm not for it. If we were fighting for workers rights I'd be out right now if there were ulp why havn't they brought up already to NLRB.
