Christian Lacouture should suit up for the team. His father played professionally.

The goalie must be a midget without arms. And blind

The jersies are horrible. Why would they choose that logo??

I played goalie in an inline league in Lafayette for the women's team one season. As terrible as their D was I dont believe I ever gave up 19. and that's inline. I probably faced 70-80 shots a game.

If you stand in a butterfly stance and don't move, even with a little defense it would be hard to give up 19 to the quality of players in this league. It's obvious we have guys who want to be a Cinderella story but have no ability whatsoever as a team. I love hockey and want to feel good about LSU having a team but this is assault. We shouldn't have a team.

Does anyone play in leagues at Leo's?

The coach is a student, pretty sure she's a Soph/Junior

It's a club sport so it doesn't really matter

Did not know they still had one.

I played, reffed, and coached all levels U8 to college at Meltdown and Topshelf in Lafayette. From what I understand, the sport is dead in Acadiana since I have left. Good times.

Ice, I think, still has a small following. I guess they play out in Carencro.

I remember the hockey boom in Louisiana in the mid 90s. Icegators and the Kingfish. I remember reading in the Advocate how young kids in Louisiana were playing hockey and one kid even went to a camp in Minnesota or Michigan.

I figured it wouldn't last in Louisiana. Are there youth leagues in Baton Rouge and New Orleans and Lafayette? I can't imagine it ever being worth it for parents and people to put money into youth hockey in Louisiana.

Are the guys on the LSU club team students from the North and Louisiana kids who are Northern transplants?

We have an adult league at leos with 8 teams. The LSU guys practice before we play. There is a kids group, don't know how organized.

Why do we keep bringing the hockey team back? Just let it rest in peace

Rink in Carencro is closed. City of Carencro purchased it for indoor football, soccer with basketball and volleyball addition to come. Ice sports are all but on life support in south Louisiana.
