I think my son's football autographed by Tim Brown just increased in value.

All that said I say Kurt Warner- Heck No. He was the starter for his teams only 6 years.

I believe Brett Favre started every game for 8 years before Warner started and was still playing after Warner retired.

Do you have it both ways? Meaning a player that is just under the numbers for the HOF, but is an awesome guy off the field. Charities, role model, ambassador for the game.

Mathew Slater will be the litmus test for that. He's considered one of the best special teamers and one of the best human beings in the game.

I highly doubt Matthew Slater will even be considered. Even most Patriots don’t think he should be.

He asked if good guys make the hall, and he's one of the best at what he does and has won a shite load of those good guy awards, so I mostly jokingly said watch Slater.

He doesn't deserve to sniff the hall fwiw.

Terrell Davis-NO. Didn't do it long enough. Yes, he was the best in the NFL for about 3-4 years. Not long enough.

Disagree here. His time was short but he was clearly the best at his position during those years.

And he plays a position that isn’t given to longevity.

Swann is the epitome of how the NFL kissed the Rooney family arse. There are several Dolphins from their early 70s dynasty who belong way before Swann. Kuechenberg, Dick Anderson for starters and maybe Bill Stanfill. Swann in the Hall is a joke.

In the 'career cut short by injury' category, I nominate Sterling Sharpe.

Then I nominate Bo Jackson. If he hadn’t injured his hip on that play he’d be a hall of famer in canton and Cooperstown

This has been a losing argument for me for years, but I’ll say it again: the NFL Hall of Fame should be renamed the NFL Hall of Pretty Good.

In my opinion, the NFL’s standards are too low.

I don’t think Terrell Davis should be in. I also think Calvin Johnson should be excluded. The Hall is full of guys like Dan Hampton, Dan Dierdorf, and Andre Tippett who really don’t hold up to any kind of scrutiny. Don’t look too close at these guys... they have well-known names, but they really aren’t that special. Art Monk, for instance. He’s just a longevity guy who was never truly dominant.

In my opinion the Hall should be reserved for players who were statistically and (football) culturally dominant during their playing days, which also should be lengthy. Like you couldn’t avoid hearing about them on Sunday. People who had/have actual FAME and accomplished GREAT things in the field. Not “good,” GREAT.

Morten Anderson FG% is not even top 60 all time. Sure he had a nice long career but if anyone is kicking below 80% by today’s standard, that player would be cut.
