I'm tired, time for a beer and a nap. But I will have some fresh cottontail to cook tonight.

We ran in Elton today. East wind gave the dogs fits plus hunted some new land so we weren't real sure how rabbits would work. We have a normal rotation of land we hunt from Johnson Bayou to Elton so we normally are familiar with the layouts. We had to wait for duck season to finish before getting on this one but it wasn't very good so probably won't make our regular rotation. We only hunt a spot once per season.

Used to love to Rabbit hunt til I started chasing doves and ducks . Saw your post name , my dad used to be the defensive coordinator at Sulphur when they won the state championship in the mid 60's . Great town .

I will have to look it up and see if I know who your dad is and yes born and raised here. It's not for everyone but I enjoy it. Probably not many places that have had 3 or 4 generations pass through the same school but it's common in Sulphur. I loved chasing birds when I was younger and still the few hunts a year I make just don't do it as much.
