Based on ypc, If PT got 226 carries during his prime, he would have averaged 1200 yds/yr..... I'm okay with letting Ingram walk. I felt the same about Bush and Sproles

I'm OK with letting Ingram go.

Bush too.

I am NOT ok with letting Sproles go.

letting ingram go leaves a decent void. I think the saints want him back at a above avg market starter.

I want Reggie back this year if Detroit lets him walk

I'd take Reggie, PT, and Robinson + a late round pick > having Ingram back honestly for anything over $3.5/year. I like Ingram a lot too

Sproles made our offense predictable, everyone knew when he was in the game it was 80% a pass play.

Which is okay for passing down IMO.

He would still be a saint if he was willing to take a slight pay cut. He wasn't

Right, but my issue is Ingram will want more than that. It's a career liability for him to stay here and get minimal carries per game. With less carries per game, he'll get less professional fulfillment and less of a chance to improve his marketability/market value.

With that liability he will demand slightly more than he is worth to the Saints. As a result, my guess is he'll test Free Agency. I think there's a very minimal chance he rejoins us. Just my opinion.

I will add I'd like for him to return, but I'd hate the Saints to overspend for a committee back; and to be perfectly honest his talent level and skill-set is more compatible with a 1 or 2 back system. Now what'd I'd hate is for the Falcons to release Steven Jackson and sign Ingram. He'd be in a perfect system at Atlanta with Quizz as the change-of-pace back.

I knew we couldn't keep Bush with that 12 mil hit. But he's the one I regret letting go the most. Him, Thomas, and Bell were such a great group and Ivory, Robinson could have filled the bell role.

That 09 Season was pretty damn special. Our offensive playcalling and executing was fantastic that year. It was also pretty special in 2006 with Deuce, Bush, and a little PT!

Ivory

Wish he could have remained healthy when he was here. Still think it was a good trade.

Ingram is definitely not worth more money or a long term deal. The best running he does is when he finds a Bama sideline to run down during a Tide Game.
