Good movie? Thriller?
Very good thriller.

It's a great movie. The acting is top notch. It's creepy as hell. Plus, they nail the whole 70s vibe

I love that movie.
SPOILERS
The scene at the end when Gylenhaal visits the guy who owned the cinema is one of the creepiest scenes I've ever seen. I love how they didn't make it over the top but just used the story and context to create such a thrilling scene.

I haven't read the thread yet, but I'll definitely be in the minority. I think Zodiac is hugely overrated. I've watched it three times now (trying to give it a second and third chance), and it's a struggle to get through every time. It's my least favorite Fincher movie.
I appreciate the attention to detail and so forth, but the end result is IMO overlong and pretty boring.
I'd say it's worth a watch, though. A lot of people like it. It just wasn't for me.
You and I are on the exact same page when it comes to thrillers and such. We both agree on Gone Girl too.

I'm one of the few who didn't like it. I don't think the film is focused enough. Way too many main characters for most of the movie.
100% agree with what you said.

That creepy dude is the voice of Roger Rabbit.

The amount of detail that was used recreating the murder scenes is incredible...they filmed at the exact spot on lake B where the zodiac tied up that couple
I also love how they do not dramatize events that we do not know about. Everything that you see on screen are documented events.
with the exception of the main character, there is never a scene with another person alone that cannot be corroborated

It also really captures the obsession that people have for the case and the different theories and views the people who worked the case had when approaching it.
The zodiac is most likely dead, so the only way we'll ever solve it (which we won't) will be through handwriting. DNA will never yield conclusive results

This is why I love the film. It is ultimately about the obsession WITH Zodiac, rather than Zodiac himself. Downey has that great scene in which he points out how truly insignificant Zodiac really was, yet they are all obsessed with the mystery.
