If my dad told me that he skipped the Super Bowl to see me being born, I would never respect him because of how much of a pussywhipped pussy he is.

Irrelevant IMO. I could not care less about seeing any of my children being born. The only purpose to be there, IMO, is to be with your SO while a medical event is occurring. If she's going to be fine, and there is something else that's really important, go do that other thing.

Personally, it's an easy choice for me, I would go play the superbowl. And I would have arrangements for me to fly straight to the hospital immediately after.
Maybe, it's because I don't have any kids, but this is just how I see it. Richard Sherman is easily one of the most imprtant people on this Seahawks team. Whether they win or lose, can rest on how well he plays. Personally I could not stand the thought of bailing out on all my teammates and fans who are counting on me in the biggest stage of them all.
Will it make Sherman any less of a man/father if he missed this childbirth? I think not. As long as he is in the child's life consistently that is all that matters imo.

The SO traveled to Scottsdale. So, no issue with Sherman being at the birth of child before or after the game.

Mike and Mike discussed this a while ago and golic said his wife would have induced. That would be my first choice.
I know some people think you don't need to be there for the birth but have your kid flown to the children's hospital 2 hours away as soon as they are born and tell me if you still feel that way.

can you imagine how pissed you would be at your kid your whole life if you missed out on your lifelong dream playing in the fricking super bowl because of him?
If I was a Seattle player and he bailed on me, I'd be pissed as hell
not to mention, you would be a major risk to any NFL team looking to sign you later in your career

The whole "you have to be there" in order to be a good father is bogus. The baby is not even aware of anything at birth. Sherman made a commitment at the beginning of the season and he should see it through. What if Sherman was a brain surgeon, a nuclear reactor operator, an air traffic controller or a firefighter? Unless the family is in danger, do your job then go home and enjoy your family. This is what a man does.

I'd have someone in constant contact with her on the sideline giving me updates. If she went into labor, I'd be out. He was there for his first Super Bowl. He needs to be there for his first child.

Super Bowl, think how many military guys missed their first child's birth and didn't see their child until 6 months later. He still gets to leave after the game
