a good season and barely missed the playoffs.

Isn't that exactly what we're looking at this year? I'm just not as sold on this roster as most people are. Monty could definitely improve, but he hasn't exactly been given any loaded rosters with which to fail.

Do you think with the current roster, this is a .500 team? I'm seriously asking.

I personally don't. We've seen what this team looks like when they play "the right way". There is no excuse for them not to play that way on a consistent basis.

Yeah but we have more talent and a better roster, IMO, than last years Suns and it seems to me like we're looking at a 44-46 win season.

I think we all agree that there is one problem that always is attached to every other problem, coaching. We can see what monty can get this team to do, we see flashes of it. The same thing can be said of brad Stevens in Boston or Jason Kidd or look at mike Malone before he got fired or Tom Thibodeaux the last couple years. Poor or average rosters can play well above their means if they have good coaching. That's why I don't like the roster excuse.

Around .500 yes.

The bench sucks and the starting 5 can't be asked to outscore the other teams starters by 15-20 points every night to make up for the time the bench is out there.

ETA: The team is 6 deep. While I like Pondexter & Cunningham I don't think they'd be getting much run elsewhere. I think they are an improvement over what we had coming off the bench, but that really isn't saying much.

Health is one obvious "excuse." Beyond that, showing up and playing with energy every night is on the players on the court as much as the coach.

You know what I mean.

It's about more than energy. It's lack of execution as well which is on coaching. A young team like these needs a strong leader which they apparently do not have. They also have no offensive identity and when shot's aren't falling they have no clue what to do.

We beat the nuggets in all the hustle stats last night, they out executed us at the end of the game. They got open looks to the guys who were hot all game and we settled for contested pull up jumpers after dribbling for half the shot clock.

AD is going to push 20-30 win shares on his own. The rest of the talent on the roster is not a 15-20 win team. It's kind of an anomaly to have someone as good as AD and finish around .500.

The part that is truly sad? How much does getting Jrue back REALLY help? The fact that isn't a resounding "good bit" speaks volumes. He's not a top 30 player, but he would easily be a starter (or a 30+ minute 6th man) on almost every team not named GSW.

I will never understand the blind faith argument for Monty at this point. How much more do people need to see? What has he ever accomplished? Those questions never get answered. The answers to those questions are always finger pointing deflections at other issues.

Majority of the fans on here want Monty gone and Ryno gone regardless if we win or lose.

The problem is when we win all this random people come on the board and say how amazing Monty and Ryno are because they accidently watched the whole game that we won. Must of been a slow night for tv if those fans were forced to watch the game.

Now we lose those same people argue why Monty and ryno are still here. we blame those occasional pelican fans.

Those who wait all day for the game to start and get on tiger dropping all day seeing if anything will affect the game, those are the fans that when something bad happens we only say a little because deep inside we are saying " Told you so"

Now when we win the true fans are so drunk with excitement we let the nubes do the talking on tigerdropping

My earlier post wasn't in defense of Monty. I don't hate him like some around here, but I won't be sad to see him go.

The point I was trying to make was that I really just don't think the roster outside the top 6 guys is very good. That's all I was trying to say.

In a nutshell, most of us are socially responsible individuals and are not going to rain on any Pel Parades when they win. It's better for the team that people are blindly excited. I don't even bash Monty much to my friends unless they bring up the subject to me.
