At first I was going to call this a gross understatement, but I'm going to need to check out some pace stats or whatever bullshite because I swear Tony Bennett has become a Bo Ryan clone with the way he's able to slow down the game.
ETA: Looked it up, UVA is second to last in the country in possessions per game.

Well they're #2 behind UK in Field-Goal Percentage Defense (UK at 31.7 and UVA at 34.1) and #1 in Scoring Defense. They're #12 in the country in Defensive Rebounding which obviously helps eliminate opposing possessions on a missed shot. And they're #3 in the country when it comes to Rebound Margin.
In short they clean up the boards and eliminate second chance possessions for the opposition.

UK is about middle of the pack. Which doesn't surprise to much given how many point fricking blank shots they miss on occasion.

Every year I call up my friend in bumfrick Derby, Kansas and tell him "this is the year Kansas doesn't win the Big 12". Every year he says "lol fgt" and he's right.
