I was about three or four years old, playing with an empty Sunkist can on the surfside of Ship Island with my parents. I threw the can in the water and then walked out to get it, but before I could grab it, I stepped off the submerged sand shelf and dropped a foot or two underwater. I remember seeing nothing but the sand bottom and green water. Next thing I knew, my dad was pulling me up out the water by my hair. That freaked me out more than almost drowning.

3 years of age at my uncle's wedding. I fell asleep in the pew and heard voices. Went to the parlor area where the reception was held. My uncle grabbed me and lifted me up in celebration. I was named after him BTW (First name)

He was a police officer and was shot and killed 3 months later.

It is my only memory of him and I am glad it is.

I was born in January. (Don't remember that.) It was either my 1st summer when I was around 6-8 months, or my second summer when I was about 18 months, I can remember being pushed in a stroller up and down the rocky shoulder of the street outside our house. The ride was bumpy as hell, and it was extremely hot. Crying my lungs out was the only way I could express the torture I was in, but nobody was listening.

My grandma accidently slamming my hand in the door of her big arse cadillac. I was 3.

2nd memory was the next day..I almost burnt the house down. Woke up early in the morning and decided to make toast for my mom. Put butter on the bread and slapped it in the toaster. I just remember black smoke, fire alarm, and mom screaming

Pearl Harbor.

I was three years old. I remember the family gathered around the big old radio all day. My mother was crying and my father and older brother were mad and wanting to fight.

I had no idea what the event was - all I knew was that my whole family was acting very strange - and I was hoping beyond hope that it wasn't my fault. I just stayed out of the way and watched the strangeness.

You have some awesome memories. You really should do a Q/A thread.

I wish I had the memory to do that - I have lived through some really momentous events, but I'd have to say 'I don't remember' so often that I'd be completely embarrassed.

But thanks anyway - I'll have to settle for chiming in on the few things that my memory did register.
