I didn't like the guy anyway. He always started in the middle of categories. It bothers me when contestants don't start at the top and work their way down in order.

He was going for the win. Nothing wrong with that.
She played a lot smarter, betting that he wouldn't know and would wager that extra dollar.

On her daily double picture, you could clearly see Wedgewood on the clockface...the answer.

The guy who lost by a dollar and the girl who won were both pretty solid players.
I have no sympathy for someone who loses when there is literally zero reason for them too, though.
The guy with 21K had a really stupid final round wager. There is zero benefit to betting 7001. If you bet 7k and get it right, worst case you tie for the win, keep your money, and play another day. Basically you win. Likewise, if you get it wrong and the other person bets zero (what happened), you STILL TIE. The extra dollar he bet only decreased his chances of advancing.
The guy made a really stupid bet, and if you go on jeopardy without knowing how to bet, youre fricked

Well, inasmuch as you win the money with a tie he probably disagrees with you right now while kicking himself.
Poor guy.

Do you watch jeopardy daily?
I try to. My strengths are history, geography, science, dictionary categories. Not too good on the popular culture, movies and tv, nor popular literature ones.

Talented how? He's good with the buzzer, which is of course a primary skill. But he's a terrible game manager, as proven by his performance.

e was waaaay better. All throughout the program I was thinking "this guy is sharp. He's going to be a multiple champion". Then he screwed up his wager.
Again...way better at what?

Knowledge-talented.
His game management wasn't all THAT bad, really. When the game was nearing its end he wisely wagered only $700 on his own daily double with about an $11,000 lead. Then, the champion's daily double was out of his control and she hit it lucky with an easy question. All of which made the outcome all the more stunning.

Meh. There's almost always relative parity in contestant knowledge. The real skill is the buzzer, which he did appear to be pretty good at (although he seemed to struggle very early on.)

What's the point of wagering that amount of money? Makes zero sense.
eta: ok I see why you would wager that much. If they both get it right he cant lose. I don't watch jeopardy much

I think the champ won by exactly $1 in both her games

Final Jeopardy was about 2 time Best Actor Oscar winners and he picked DiCaprio! I have no sympathy for him. It's so well known that DiCaprio hasn't won a single Oscar it has become a running joke.
As I told my wife last night, when in doubt on Best Actor questions, go with Brando.
As a wise man once said, "Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes, well, he eats you."

Opera and theater are the two categories that I have a near 0% chance of getting any correct.

That's how the feeble-minded play.

I don't know, but enough time to calculate that
14 x 2 = 28
and
28 - 21 = 7
