What is replicated mahogany grain?

Looking at a piece of furniture. Looks nice but then it says that on label. Never heard of that before. Cheap, I assume.

Probably an image of Mahogany that is applied to the cheap wood and then a clear coat over it.

I was surrounded by all sorts of replicated exotic wood furniture during my LSU days...particle board and contact paper, man...
