Broken plexiglass windshield

Riding my ranger today and managed to break a piece out of my flip down windshield. Anyway to repair this with any sort of epoxy or glue? Anyone here ever have any experience with this? Sure don't feel like dishing out $300 for a new one.

you could do it with a good number of different kinds of glue or silocone...a repair will never be invisible, though...

I'm not too concerned with how it looks as long as I can still see through it ok. Strength of the bond is what I'm more concerned with. The piece that broke off is where the strap goes around the roll cage to hold the windshield in place.

gorilla glue...
eta: if you want strength, cut a smaller piece of plexiglass in the shape that you need and then glue the flat part to the flat part of the existing windshield...basically make a patch or reinforcement...not gonna be able to see through it very well, though...

Is it PlexiGlass or Lexan? There is a difference.I have a Kubota RTV and I bought a sheet of 1/4" LEXAN to make my windshield.Lexan is much stronger than plexi and you can bend it to fit.I made a template out of some paneling and cut it to fit.I installed it with rubber coated stainless clamps. The sheet was $89 at Regal Plastics in BR.That was in 2010 and its still in good shape.

How bad of a piece is broken...?

Not sure if it is lexan or plexiglass. How do you tell the difference? May give the weld on a try.

Bite the bullet and get a new one. Babes don't want to ride in a hoopty.

Is the edge bluish or clear? If its clear its plexiglass. If the cut edge has a bluish/gray color, it's polycarbonate (lexan). Lexan is much stronger and can can actually be bent to fit the contours of your roll cage. Plexiglass will not bend much before breaking IMO. When I bought the 4x8 sheet for my windshield they actually rolled it up so it would fit into the truck bed.

Clear edges. Must be plexiglass. Not nearly as flexible as you described. If it were, I doubt this would be an issue.

See if you can find a plastics distributor close by. They will have what you need for a lot cheaper than Polaris /Kubota/ Yamaha will sell it to you for . I got my rubber coated stainless pipe clamps from Mcmasters Carr online. I made a front/back windshield and had enough left to make deer stand windows.

I will do some shopping around. I'm sure I can find it somewhere close. Thanks for everyone's input.
