Let me start by saying that I'm very happy with this team overall. However, if we can cut our Turnovers(mostly careless passes), we can really start to dominate this league and we can really start enjoying these games.

Free throws, especially in the last 10 minutes of the game would help as well. Would love to see how our free throw % is in different portions of the game.

Average of 16 turnovers per game is just too much:
Vandy 19
UF 16
A&M 16
Ole Miss 12
UGA 14
Mizzou 19

I would agree, but at this point of the year I think we need to accept that's just what we are and we will have to live life on the edge till the end.

That and our players are completely gassed in the 2nd half. Our rotation is too thin.

Yeah, I would've like to have gotten Mickey/Martin another break in the second half with Malone in there.

I think Mickey/Martin/Malone/Bridgewater is a pretty good rotation down low. And Gray/Hornsby/Quarterman/Patterson is a good guard rotation.

No reason we can't go 8 even if Bridgewater is only getting a couple mins.

There is nothing good about Malone and Bridgewater.

Nothing good about them? Are other schools fans as idiotic as ours?

Malone played better on Jones than Mickey and Martin did. He has the bulk to not get backed down, but you sacrifice so much athleticism.

Malone is giving LSU far more than the coaches every expected. Only wish we'd see more of Robinson and Epps (whose knee is likely more damaged than originally let on).

I agree with the OP. Frankly Vandy was a team that LSU could have pressed unfortunately there is not enough depth to press much. You know JJ would like to do this, but the depth situation makes it impossible with so many playing 30+ minutes and to JJ's credit he recognizes this.

The Tigers got their third SEC road win out of four(yes I know they lost to the worst team they played). I said before this three game stretch the Tigers need to win them all. SC and at State need to be wins. I have a gut feeling, LSU will be the cardiac team the rest of the year either at home or away. Seriously, LSU could be 6-0 or 1-5 at this point. Three OTs and two games down to the final minute.

Gray seems to have lost his confidence and we really need him to step up at least every other game. I love how Patterson is progressing.

Yea bridge water is way too small. he has decent moves and blocking out ability but bigger guys just go right over the top of him

IMHO it's more than depth, I just think this team doesn't have the players to effectively press.

Coleman and Morgan with Hickey birddogging made the press work the previous two years. LSU had similar depth issues those years but pressed more than now because it was effective.

Other than Q this team really does not have the personnel make it work. Going to the press against A&M really gave them some easy baskets and got them back in to some rhythm against us offensively.

I think this more so than depth issues has convinced CJJ to dial back the pressing.

That's a great point. This team is not as quick and athletic and can't cover the court like the last two teams did. Netter to try to play position defense and rely on Mickey's inside presence and his and Martin's rebounding.
