Spinoff of a spinoff: Pocket Question

I have about 3 pairs of the slacks I own that down at the bottom of the right hand front pocket is a small separate pocket built it, down in the front. What the frick is that for? Other than getting one of my keys wedged in it, I haven't figured out a purpose. Anyone?
I have a couple of shirts that have a similar detail inside the left chest pocket.

I guess I didn't word it as well as I could have but I meant 3 OF the pairs of slacks that I own.
As for the loose change, yes some of it ends up in there and some ends up in the larger part of the pocket, which means its just more difficult to get it all out when I need it.
