Bushy eyebrows lead to arrest in Dunkin robbery

Derick Christophe, 17, faces charges of armed robbery as an adult. Judge Joseph Marx on Wednesday ordered the teen held without bond in the Palm Beach County Jail. Saron Yungk, 18, was arrested in December and remains in jail on $46,000 bail on similar charges.

On Dec. 12, a male with a bandana across his face came into the store in the 4400 block of Hypoluxo Road. Two employees said the teen pointed a handgun at them and demanded money. The employees told Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies that the male had distinctively bushy eyebrows.

When investigators watched security footage of the store from the day, they noticed a male matching the employees’ description just an hour before the robbery chatting with Yungk at the counter. The footage shows Christophe leaving the store around 8 p.m., according to the report. During the next hour, Yungk is seen texting an unknown person until his friend returns to the store.

When he enters, Yungk is shown putting his index finger over his own mouth, signally for his partner to be quiet while he grabs another employee, according to the report.

This time when Christophe is seen on camera, his “very distinct bushy eyebrows” are shown above the bandana covering the rest of his faces as he demands the employees hand him the cash drawer, according to investigators.

Immediately after the robbery, authorities say the teens posted a photo of themselves and the cash on Instagram stating they were “…thuggin it blowing it down.”
