Someone on PR posted an article about "stress reactions" which apparently is a medical term for a pre stress fracture. I'm not sure if rest will help or if it's destined to full on fracture again. Some of the treatment options I've seen sound a bit like what Gordon did, strengthening muscles around the bad area. Jrue may have to learn a new way to play, one of his strengths is how he moves his feet, but obviously the current way he does it is too rough on his bones.

I posted an article last night in this thread that everyone should read. The guy does a good job of discussing reinjury after stress fractures.

This isn't a misdiagnosis though

Maybe it isn't (yet), and maybe it will never be, but I feel like we've had a lot of questionable injury handling/reporting in the past to be frustrated with how things have been done. I realize that I could just be overreacting. Although, would anyone be surprised if Holiday missed the rest of the season?

Jrue was just on the pregame show with Jen Hale and the way he described a stress reaction vs. a stress fracture, he made it sound like rest should heal it, and had he sat out and rested last year instead of playing through the pain he could have avoided it becoming a stress fracture. That makes the fact that Monty had to pull Jrue even more ridiculous. I know these pro athletes have a gladiator mentality, but knowing the injury he has, playing on it was just stupid.

Again, the good news is he seemed to think rest will get him back on the court eventually.

Rest was supposed to heal it last year too. I'm not expecting him to play till next year

Last night during the broadcast Joel Meyers said after talking to Jrue he's close and expecting to come back after the All Star break. We'll see what happens, but Joel and David were the ones that kept teasing Gordon coming back when most of us thought for sure he'd be getting season ending surgery.

Yeah Im very optimistic too.

For those that are comparing it to last year you're missing an important fact:

Jrue played through a reacttion last year which in turn caused a fracture. He caught it this year BEFORE it turned into one. It was already too late last year by the time he caught it.

When asked on his weekly coach’s show if we’re close to seeing a Holiday return, Monty Williams said: “I think we are. Do I know the date? I’m not sure. But in my mind, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to think we can get him back during the All-Star break. I know he’s chomping at the bit and he’s feeling a lot better. If we can get him back over the break, it would really give our team a jolt, and kind of settle the rotation a bit.”

Does he friggin' ever? Most optimistic I've ever seen was when he caught the Holy Ghost after AD made that 3.

Hope this is true. I just got my tickets to the Heat-Pelicans game here in Miami next weekend. Would be nice to see Jrue back on the floor.
