The last time we utilized a slot WR was 2007 with Flynn throwing to:
Lafell - 50 catches
Byrd - 35 catches
Docuet - 57 catches
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Doucet was the primary slot receiver that year as well.
Since then we simply haven't utilized the slot.

We are a power run team and we can't even get the ball in the hands of our best running back. And you want to add people who we would have to become innovative on offense to get them the ball?

I do not really think he wanted to play for us from the start. I would just move on from him because he is not coming here.

Will have a tough time finding a position
I think LSU has been out for him for awhile
If he wants to play offense or RB he will end up at another school that gives him that opportunity

Wasn't Russell Shepard a slot receiver? In 2010 he had 33 receptions.
Any a guy like Tyron Johnson is perfect for the slot as a true freshman.
I'm wondering if we go 3 wide next year. We have so many talented receivers that it's a shame to waste them the way we do.
