(This may belong on the Rant or More Sports Board. Feel free to move to appropriate board if this isn't the place for it).
Dale Brown has signed off on the creation of a youth basketball organization in Louisiana. The organization will provide a charter for basketball programs (think along the lines of Biddy Basketball, Babe Ruth Baseball, Pony Baseball etc.)

The web site is very rough around the edges at the moment, but this is very exciting.

There is hope for a bunch of Baton Rouge area programs to join. Its not official yet but Iberville Parish should certainly be joining and word is a bunch of other local groups are very interested. It's at the very beginning stages at this point though. Haven't really started to get the word out.

Does anyone know of any city or Parish leagues who don't play in Biddy? That just play Rec ball.

I will be contacting them soon. Or if you know the director of basketball mention it to him and have him contact me.

Thats awesome
Thanks. It really was. Having the chance to speak with Coach Brown was amazing. I asked him for a 5 minute meeting and he stayed talking to us in his office for over an hour and a half. He's a truly amazing person. It was something to hear his stories about growing up, about John wooden, Shaq and many others. He is certainly first class all the way around.

Added another link to one of the news paper articles.
Glenn Guilbeau was also supposed to do one, but I haven't come across it yet.

I'd try to get in touch with Jermaine. He's a commissioner and cool as a fan.
