Chicago Cubs close to acquiring Astros CF Dexter Fowler

Cubs close on Fowler
This would be a very good get for the Cubs. This allows all sorts of good things to happen--it gives the Cubs a lot of flexibility in the outfield and infield with Alcantara likely moving to super utility and possibly giving the Cubs another alternative at 2B if Javi Baez needs to go back to AAA or gets traded for an arm (Zimmerman?).
The return for Fowler is rumored to be Major League-ready pitcher Dan Straily, who the Cubs traded for last season. This could be a great trade for both teams as Straily is likely a great fit for Houston and an expendable piece for the Cubs.
More to come when/if the trade is finalized...
Update: Looks like Luis Valbuena is also in the package heading to Houston. There could also be more headed to Chicago from the Astros...

Hmm. Trying to remove my fandom for Luis. But feels like a bit of an overpay. Could not care less about straily. Will miss Luis versatility. Even if his abs were going to get more and more infrequent.
