How so? Explain to me in your own words a Mike McCarthy coaching philosophy and what makes it so exceptional.

Or is it just that he wins a lot of games with Aaron Rodgers as his QB? Be honest.

Belichek has won with Tom Brady his whole career in NE, yet people consider him one of the GOAT

Unless you count Cleveland, where he was fired

And I am not necessarily defending McCarthy either, but he is winning

Fair point but also keep in mind that he is continuing to win. Multiple Super Bowls and multiple AFC Championship appearances/wins.

The criticism of McCarthy is that he won one Super Bowl four years ago and has what one considers a contender for GOAT at QB.

If he was doing this with Cutler, that's one thing but Rodgers has a set time that he'll be in his prime so drastic measures might be needed to take full advantage of it.

It goes back to the Elway solution. Right or wrong, he decided that the coach that brought them to the Super Bowl last year was not the guy to maximize the talent that was on the team so instead of dying by a thousand cuts, he pulled the trigger. Forgive the mixed metaphors.

yeah BUT... Elway might be forced into rebuild mode because think about it. Peyton Manning is basically done. He's only gonna get worse from how he was the end of this season. Denver might as well start the rebuild now.

this isn't the case in Green Bay. we know how difficult it is to win even if you do have a GOAT QB. Belichek is the outlier. McCarthy has a Super Bowl, and every indication is that he will bring the Pack back eventually. He had the home field in 2011, made the playoffs last year, and made the NFC CG this year.

Well Bill also has won 3 super bowls, as well as 6 AFC championships. If Mccarthy did that instead of losing in the first round and choking dicks in other years i think he would get a break
