I really like horror movies like the conjuring, the ring, and so on. I had heard high praise for sinister so I had high expectations. That was one of the worst horror movies I have ever seen. It was so stupid it was laughable.

Here was your problem. I never have high expectations for horror movies and they always seem more enjoyable.

sinister is probably one of my favorite horror movies. thought it was extremely creepy and well done.
and now i understand why you dont like sinister. i think the conjuring and the insidious movies are some of the worst horror movies out there. that style is horrible to me.

Sinister is terrible.
One of the worst endings I've ever seen in a movie.

I thought it was Shitty.
Real horror is the prevoking of imagination. Directors don't scare audiences anymore, and the ones that would, probably won't get a reall chance. films like these have no atmosphere, dedication, patience, empathy or insight.
