There hasn't been one here in a few years. 98.1 plays 90s rock sometimes now so at least we have that.

The last few they had played a list of ten songs in an infinite loop.

Rock 93.7 out of Lafayette was one of the best rock stations that Louisiana had ever had because they'd play everything from Led Zepplin and Iron Maiden to Pantera and Slayer with all of the modern stuff, but the parent company had that station up for sale for years even before the format change TO rock because it has a huge signal that goes from nearly Hammond to Lake Charles. Eventually some horrific southern baptist bible company bought it out and killed it - replaced it with preaching and very 1800's-ish gospel singing. Within months of Rock 93.7 closing a few bars in the Lafayette area shut down because they weren't getting the bands in the area anymore and no promotion on radio that reached a further than five block area that Planet Radio covers. Jace Edwards and staff busted their asses to get bands in town both in Lafayette and at the Varsity - they were the ones that got the Deftones to play in BR instead of NOLA. It was a sad day that they shut down last summer. I drive all the time for work and would rarely not have 93.7 on my radio.
The day they shut down was the day I switched to Sirius XM to listen to lithium/octane/liquid metal. BR radio is now just country, rap, and christian. that's it. There's literally nothing else to listen to.

Meaning they'd play the heavier older stuff that 98.1 won't.
