I think I have a mild case. I CANNOT sit in the backseat of most cars, trucks, and Jeeps. It simply is all about leg room. If I cannot stretch out my legs to where they are at least 75-80% straight, I feel uncomfortable as frick! If I am in a situation and the ride is longer than ten minutes, it is ALL I can think about. It really sucks, but I know it could be worse.

Who else suffers from any level of claustrophobia?

I'm claustrophobic but sitting in the backseat doesn't bother me.

I get uncomfortable if I feel like I cannot breathe. Having to wear a mask at work for a long period of time makes me start feeling very uncomfortable. It's why my attempt to scuba dive was such a massive fail...I could never get completely comfortable with the mask and being underwater for long periods of time and having to breathe with a regulator.

Yeah claustrophobia is more about feeling like you cannot breathe or feel like you are trapped.

That's another trigger for me....cramped up in tight spaces...I'll be calm for a lil bit and then just get more and more comfortable until I freak out. Also can't stand to feel like I'm being held down. If someone jokingly holds me down to tickle me....I immediately feel panicky and will start punching at that person to let me go.

I disagree and so do many medical professionals. Claustrophobia is defined as the fear of small, enclosed spaces and anxiety is an effect of this. The backseat of many vehicles has little room to offer. I don't freak out, but my mind is fixated on the discomfort of not being able to move my legs. It is all I can do sometimes not to simply get out and walk...lol...

Another trigger for me is flying. I HAVE to have a window seat or else I start feeling trapped and uncomfortable on a crowded plane. Something about being able to see out the window makes me feel more calm and not as "trapped"

Don't watch The Vanishing with Jeff Bridges. The end will scar you for life.

my wife's family all have varying degrees of this.

my nephew's wife is the worst. she WILL NOT get in an elevator. I have seen her walk 8-10 flights of stairs to avoid an elevator. she cannot even be on the inside of a booth in a restaurant. she will freak the frick out.

Other than the blood clotting while I bathe in it, it's never made me uncomfortable

Your first long flight will be a nightmare for you then.

You better pay up and sit first class or pray you get an exit row when this day comes.

Yeah but no one is making you do that. You choose to by hunting.
