I see more reasons than any season since 2013 with Mett as a SR QB.

1) we will have an experienced, talented and well coached OL. this is indeed #1 and this critical component had me the most worried. Kudo's to our guys returning! and Grimes IS an improvement.

2) high likelihood of much improved offense; both running game AND passing game. I saw improvement in our last 2 games in both the passing game and play calling. I don't care what the stats were, we hit TE's, successfully executed screens and just got better.

3) our QB position is much more favorable than beginning of last season. AJ is much more experienced but we have a chance that BH will come around. he's had a year to mature and learn our system and I am optimistic he will be the man in 2015. and we will have an experienced backup in AJ.

4) we lost Chavis but we have upgraded in position coaches. we have top flight position coaches at every position now. yes, the coordinator is uncertain but most game plans are staff produced anyway. with improved DL and LB play we have to be better than the D that faced MSU and AU last year; we were awful.

5) our special teams can't get any worse (the kicking side of it). we definitely need to get it straightened out.

I think our upside is much higher and if BH can mature and be the man we may be damn good.

I don't disagree. LSU could be very special next season.

Finished 2nd in the sec in net punt average. Finished near the top in every st category. The place kicker just needs to make easy ones.

we also looked good in punt and return coverage. I guess I meant the kicking team; FG's and KO's seemed to implode.

The STs were not bad relative to other teams and they all return. As good as most LSU teams: probably not. Other than that, I agree with the OP.
