I think there is a legitimate chance that Champ would go to the NFL to be DC under Quinn. They made some of the best halftime coaching adjustments in 2012 (for the defense, not the offense) that I can remember in recent memory. The defense was at a championship level in 2012 and fell off after Quinn left

So he's going to swallow his pride, probably take a pay cut, and go work for a guy who worked for him?
Makes perfect sense.

Oh Lord, please let this happen!! It would be the most epic melt ever. The Barners already have Guschamp shirts and everything.

Happened last time the Falcons hired a coach. Mike Smith took Van Gorder from USCe before he even coached a game.

Muschamp was in the Pro game (DC ?)under Saban in Miami. On record saying he perfered the College Game.

also, if you believe Muschamp eventually wants to again become a college head coach, being auburn's DC makes more sense than taking an assistant job for the Falcons.

I'd almost think the opposite. I think people were surprised Muschamp took the Auburn job because it limits his chances of getting another HC gig. However, a successful NFL run as DC could change some minds.

Of course..

But an accurate representation of some of your fans, nonetheless.

Don't act like we don't all have them.

Brian VanGorder did this to SCe in "08. He became SCe's DC in Dec of '07. He then took the Falcons job under Mike Smith one month later in Jan. '08...

It's not really that far of a reach. Dan Quinn and Will Muschamp have a history together, by all accounts and based on the results we saw in 2012, they appear to work well together, so I think any rational thinking, non-delusional fan unlike yourself would have some level of concern and see a connection. But then again, most barners aren't capable of critical thinking, making logical connections, etc.

We had a running back coach do that to us in 2012 when Malzahn hired him and he left for San Diego if I remember correctly.

Oh shite it's happening again.

Don't go Boom!!!
