If any of you are on the fence about getting it I highly suggest you do!! This thing can do a lot. I like the touch screen function, HR monitoring during exercise, and the different exercise functions it has

I was looking at it and then I saw the price tag. I picked up the Fitbit charge.

I decided to splurge and get it. So far I've been pleased. I figured it was a good way to keep me motivated to work out

It really is, especially if you have friends who don't like to lose and own a fitbit

My Charge HR came in the mail Monday. This is my first fitness tracker and so far I really like it. Let's see how long I stuck with it and how long it keeps me motivated.

I got the charge Hr a few days ago and it seems the heart rate monitor is on the low side or sometimes it drops it.

Does hair on my arm have any effect at all? Anyone else notice the HR monitor not working well?

The pedometer on fitbits are bullshite. They overcount big time. Never use one on a recliner. I got like 10k steps from rocking my daughter. I sent mine back to Amazon and just use my phone as my pedometer to challenge people.

I haven't had these problems with the HR monitor and my arms are fairly hairy. Do you have it too loose/tight?

I used mine while on the treadmill and compared it to the readings from the Polar chest strap HR monitor I have and after an initial lag for a few minutes, it caught up and was within 2 to 3 beats per minute of the chest strap.

I expected this because I had watched this review before buying (talks about the HR monitor at about 5 min mark). LINK

did you think it could tell the difference?

Sometimes it will pick up motion while drivng. I usually take mine off then.

I checked my pulse myself for 60 seconds and it was exactly the same as the HR reading on my surge

Yep...this is what I've read and heard about the fitbit. Add to this the fact that the Garmin counterpart (the vivoactive) can be used in the swimming pool, I'm looking to get the vivoactive when it comes out in a month or so.

I trimmed a little yesterday and the HR monitor was working fine today. Weird.

I looked at these last year, ended up buying a GPS watch instead.

If it is a good pedometer, it should. My phone is capable of determining the difference and excluding rocking as steps.

I got the charge HR on Tuesday and love it. It's my first fitness tracker, so I don't have anything to judge it against. The pedometer does seem a little off. I fixed mine by wearing it on my non-dominant hand and selecting that I was wearing it on my dominant hand. The HR seems accurate. I've used the silent alarm a few times and the vibration is enough to wake me. I like the auto sleep detection too. I didn't think I would use the caller ID but have actually enjoyed having it. I wear a set of blue tooth headphones in the gym. Instead of digging my phone out of my bag to see who is calling, I can just look at my wrist and answer from my head set.

The one drawback for me is the estimated calories burned. I'm fairly active for work and also work out most days. But there is no way that I burn 4500 calories a day. Overall though I would definitely recommend it.

Anybody got one that's maroon in color? Wife wants one badly, but it's apparently backordered for quite some time.

I got the Pivotal Life Tracker 1 for only $12. I thought it was a much cheaper way of getting into the fitness tracker world:

Here's mine:

That seems somewhat on part with my new Samsung gear 2 neo.
Lots of cool features though.
