Steele's move to LB coach at Bama was not a demotion

Greg Brown stepped down. Steele's move was not considered a demotion.

Steele, according to ESPN, was offered the Louisville defensive coordinator job but turned it down to remain with Saban in Tuscaloosa.

I'm not a sunshine pumper at all. However, I don't immediately assume that this hire is a bad one, before having any real information about the reasons why LSU made the hire.

He was demoted after the 2007 season

First, 2007 was a long time ago.
Second, do you think Saban would have rehired him if he was a poor coaching choice? It is, in many ways, more difficult to get rehired.

I'm a positive lsu fan. This is the worst hire lsu has made since Lou tepper. It rivals Curley Hallman. Heads need to roll.

One sounds like an office job and one sounds like an actual coach. I would assume that was a promotion.

He has a successful track record though at Alabama both times he was there Alabama was in the Top 25.

On the Alabama message boards that I read (about Steele's move to LB coach), most of the fans viewed it as a promotion for Steele, not a demotion.

Look at the resume. Read the articles. Read the message boards and commentary at baylor and Clemson and Carolina. We are fricked and our own coach and athletic director did it to us.

No. His demotion came after losing to ulm in 07.
