"LSU has hired Alabama assistant coach Kevin Steele as its new defensive coordinator, the school confirmed on Tuesday.
Steele, who was defensive coordinator at Clemson from 2009-11, takes over for John Chavis, who left for the same position at Texas A&M.
Before moving on the field to coach linebackers this season, Steele served as Alabama's director of player development in 2013, leading a recruiting operation that hauled in the No. 1-ranked recruiting class in the country, according to ESPN."

Not one of those recruits went to Alabama because of fckin Steele, the went for Saban. Them giving him credit for that is an absolute joke.

Yeah, um, he was a complete failure at Baylor and he was even worse with the defense at Clemson. At Bama he had NO responsibility with the defense. It was Saban and then Smart. Steele was left holding the clip board.
As for recruiting - they had #1 classes before him and after him. They just happened to have one with him, I'm sure in spite of his "best" efforts.

I hear ya, but Saban hired him back from the pros just so he could recruit his first year back at Bama. So Saban obviously thought he was great at recruiting (distributing large amounts of cash to Bama recruits in tasteful fashion).
