And people thought we were getting an upgrade over chavis..

all of you who said chief was losing his luster as DC are about to see just how good of a DC Chavis was. He was one of the best in the business yet many of you were too delusional to realize it because of all the affection for Miles. Give me the bend but don't break defense any day over a guy who's been fired the last two times he was a DC and gave up 1,000 yards and 70 points the last game he coordinated.

I'm just as happy with Steele as I would have been with 3rd and Chavis staying. I'd rather take a chance on just about anyone than keep seeing Chavis' undersized, out-of-place defense get pushed around and run-over.

No they didn't. Kiffin(new coaching staff) wanted to bring in his own DC(Monty Kiffin). He wasn't fired.
