We won't know whether this a good or bad hire until next season.

There is a lot of meltdown going on about the supposed hiring of Kevin Steele. This is craziness. Wait and see what happens next season. Let's see what happens on the field first. Yes, Clemson gave up 70 points against West Virginia in the Orange Bowl, but does one game make a career? How many of you all would like to lose all opportunities to land a good job because of one bad performance. I am sure that he also learned a lot at Alabama that may help LSU.

As one poster mentioned, "Steele, Chavis, et al...It doesn't matter. If LSU doesn't get their offense straightened out and their quarterback situation in shape, then it won't matter who is the defensive coordinator.

Expect your rich parents to buy you a BMW and they come home with a Kia. Hey, you gotta drive it for a while, you may like it!

It still matters. Especially once the offense does click

this offense will never click as long as Leslie Edwin Miles is the head coach.

It's a bad hire.

He has failed coaching defense everywhere and been humiliated and fired.

He is the worst candidate we could have gotten.

I think I'm being punkd.

Pure garbage hire. LSU needs to cut ties with Alleva and Miles immediately or go down the toilet like Texas did with Mack.

I agree with you. Sadly this post will get buried.

Was never sold 100% on any coach that has been hired since Hallman.

At a minimum give Les and Steel a chance to talk before going into a full meltdown.

Look, you all have your opinions, and I respect that. Sure I would have rather had another candidate. But I am not ready to throw the towel in on things. I also don't think that Miles is suicidal when it comes to his career. I think there may be something in Steele that we don't see. All I am saying is let the season play out next year. If Steele is a bad as you think, then wholesale changes will be made. If he successful and LSU wins big, then this is all an academic exercise. When it comes down to it, you have to have the players to win games, regardless of who the coach is. LSU has a lot of good players on defense, and I have read that Steele is a good recruiter, so let's see what happens before wanting to burn Miles at the stake.

Is that like the 3 times Les told us Jefferson was awesome in spring practice and "we wouldn't know if he was good or bad until the season started" even though he sucked arse in the spring game?
