If I'm Peyton I take the TV gig over any coaching job. He has enough money in the bank and will continue to get numerous endorsement deals even after his career is over

Southwest also flies to San Jose. And the last time I flew out of San Jose last month guess who was on the plane....

Jerry Rice.

If I'm Peyton I love the strategy aspect of the game and recognize how successful I could be as a coach while still doing something I love and go into coaching.

Once upon a time, there were 2 QBs - a few years apart - they both went to schools out west and threw the ball a lot. The older one was a little more mobile, but he struggled behind other QBs until he was finally handed the reins of an NFL team. The younger one was the starter on his team from day one. They battled each other to get into the Superbowl - and were often on the same pro bowl rosters.

The older one was a sober mormon and always seemed more poised, confident, and intelligent. The younger one seemed much more like a dumb jock (especially at first). The older one completed his legal education while an NFL QB. The younger one, as a player, just never sold me as a smooth, polished public speaker.

You would expect the older one to have made a better sports announcer, but his early efforts were pretty bad. The younger one caught on and is one of the best announcers (at least among former players calling games today - close for me between Collinsworth and this cat) that television has to offer.

The older one is Steve Young and the younger one is Troy Aikman. One never knows (and as much as I dislike the Mannings - Peyton would probably be the best one for broadcasting, because he is by far the smartest. I bet Archie and Eli barely average 110 IQ points.)
