9mm revolver or auto for a woman....

She has hunted/shot with rifles & shotguns since she was young but wants a pistol for protection. She's shot both automatics & revolvers; she likes the feel & is a better shot with a revolver but she likes the extra shots & easy reload of an auto. We're looking at a 9mm, what's says the OB, what's the better choice? TIA

There aren't many options out there for 9mm revolvers.
What's she going to do with it? Conceal carry or keep it in the car or what?

Not sure why you would go 9mm revolver. But I would go with an auto, regardless.

If she can hit what she aims at with 6, why get over involved?

Wouldn't you rather have more than you need than not enough?

everyone knows women can't handle autos

My wife is more proficient with a revolver, so that is what she carries.
Ruger SP101 loaded with Hornady light recoil

SP101 is a great carry gun.
If it's not going to be conceal carried, I'd get a full size wheelgun.

Only if what she has is enough, how about an endless supply? Makes no sense.

I would take an endless supply. Makes a lot of sense. Watch videos of armed encounters, it doesn't take any time to get 6 rounds off. Also, you can drop a mag and reload an auto pretty fast. Not so much with a revolver.

She needs to be the one who chooses. Do not make the mistake of buying a gun for her and shoving it in her hand. She will be much more likely to carry the gun if she chooses.
It would be worth your time to watch this: Firearms for Women. But as a first gun, I almost always default to "full sized 9mm semi auto." It carries numerous benefits over a tiny gun, the most being less felt recoil.

If limited to 9mm, easily semi auto. You would need moon clips to fit 9mm in a revolver and it just adds another unnecessary piece of complexity.

More is better
12-19 >>>> 5-6

I'm saying if you miss 12 out of 13 then what have you accomplished?
You boys and girls do what you want, my people are set.

Which is better if a round fails to go off?
I'll hang up an listen.
