So I'm driving into Nola tomorrow evening and being that I've only really been for Mardi Gras/specific reasons, I'm not too in the know on the good restaurants or bars in the area. We have a hotel in the quarter and was just looking for a few places to grab some food (date places) and have fun afterwards. Price on the resraurant would be pretty much angthing that isn't like galatoire's or commander's palace nice. For the bars, we're both in our early 20's so recommendations there would be welcome as well.

TL; DR I'm nola knowledgeless and need some food and drink ideas.

Red fish grill

Yo mammas. A lot of people love their burgers. I've tried twice (once drunk and once hungover) and both times it was dry and bland but maybe I just caught them on 2 bad days.

Yea. Good drinks, once you get past the cheesy decorations and set up.

And to all of the above, I would add:
Mr. B's (gumbo ya ya and BBQ shrimp)
NOLA (might be a little above what you want to spend, but check it out online)
And, if you want to venture less than 2 miles outside of the FQ, check out either The Franklin or Mariza's in the Marigny/Bywater neighborhoods.

Sylvain is a great date spot. Intimate atmosphere, not uptight, food is superb and very reasonably priced. I'd have drinks then dinner there afterward grab a drink @ Saint Lawrence or SoBou.
