I heard Coach O say on the radio that he has always wanted to coach at LSU and would be happy to be a position coach. Does anyone agree with me that it will be a major mistake to not find a way to get him on the staff? great D line coach and great recruiter. What is Les waiting on???

Brick signed his contract - no position available right now except DC.

Yes - we need him on staff. Now USC has joined AL living in the state of Louisiana going after the best talent for 2016. And the recruits are noticing.

Did we hire a LB coach that I don't know about?

Les could move brick to linebackers, hire Coach O to coach the D line, and get a d coordinator. You saying LSU doesn't have the money for 1 extra coach?

Which is odd because he had a chance to come onto the staff at one point but bolted to join Kiffin at UT.

Think it was for 3 years. Not that they really mean anything with coaches in modern times

No. We only have one open spot on staff, created when Chavis left. Hiring O right now would mean one of them would have to be DC. No room at this time.

Nope, it was a whole mis-communication...Miles was gonna match the Kiffin offer but waited because he knew Orgeron was on Vacation with his family...Kiffin flew into Destin picked up O....O said he sent Miles the crazy offer from Tenn which had a four year guarantee and a crazy number....never heard from Les...was walking to the podium to be introduced at Tenn and Miles called with the offer...Miles respected the mans vacation and it was two ships passing in the night..I can assure you the two are very good friends and they are talking

This. Why do we even need a TE coach?

Just split them up between OL and WR coaches depending on their skill set.

You can't have unlimited coaches unless you are Alabama. We only have room for 1 coach per NCAA rules. Either you promote Haley and hire ogeron, or you hire orgeron as DC. It is the only way this would work.

Unless we fire someone or Haley volunteers to leave. Making room for 2 coaches.

Timing is everything. I truly believe that if Chavis had told Les he was leaving after the last game of the reg season, both Muschamp and Orgeron would be on the LSU staff right now. I know nobody likes "what if" post or threads and maybe it's just wishful thinking.

It would be rude to hire a defensive coach right before you hire a DC. Otherwise, it's called "stepping on toes".
