McNeese St.
at Mississippi State
Auburn

Quick SEC start to the year. Haven't seen that in a few seasons. This offseason is downright the most important in recent Tiger football history, especially regarding the recent trend being somewhat downward in origin.

As long as the QB situation is figured out, it should be a good year, but the potential is there to be a rocky start.

What say the rant?

MSU with Prescott on the road will be tough test although they did lose a lot on both lines

Auburn at home is winnable

I would like to see who the DC is for next year to make an assumption. If we make a good DC hire, get Miller at QB, see vast improvement from Harris, and have a great offeason, I like where we stand.

I say you're wrong. Starting 0-2 or 2-0 won't decide the fate. Can lose those two, improve, and still end up with a mediocre season (see 2014). Or can win those two and still lose a few on the back end and end up with a mediocre season.

Not any more important than 2005, 2009, 2012.

What your thread should say is, "Interesting September next year with two SEC west matchups." But let's not overstate their importance. Everyone will still have a lot to play for come November.

Playing auburn early will be helpful. They play with a new QB in Jeremy Johnson, and Auburn's whole scheme will have to change to a certain degree since Johnson isn't nearly as big of a threat running the ball as Marshall was.

The youngest team in the West in 2014 will more than match up physically with teams that lost tons of veterans like both Moo State and Aubarn. LSU will whip both of those teams in the trenches next season and should win a typically tough and tight game in StarkVegas as well as a double-digit romp over the Plainsmen.

That LSU team didn't have near the running attack next year's team will field. What's more that shitty Auburn team had as good or better a defense than the one they'll have next season.
